Politoed sticks up for sceptiles weeknesses.... and with drizzle it weekens the fire, so i think its an awesome core

SkarmChance
Medihat here coming at you with my Fourth Core of the day The tried and true SkarmBli... Oh, wait. I forgot that Blissey is almost entirely outclassed by Chansey this generation. Silly me So, without further ado, here's MediHat's fourth official CotD: SkarmChance!

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 232 Def / 24 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Spikes
- Whirlwind
- Roost
- Brave Bird
The unbreakable combination between the physical wall Skarmory and special wall Blissey is a gem dating back to the good old GSC days, and it's almost still as effective now as it was then, despite the new heavy hitters being introduced. The set itself and strategy is very very simple. Set up layers of Spikes, then Phaze away enemies with Whirlwind while keeping healthy with Roost. rave Bird is used to hit all of those Fighting types in OU harder then racking up passive damage with Spikes. Taunt could possibly be used in the last slot to prevent set-up Pokes from setting up while you Spike and renders Wobbufett useless (which the Speed EV's allow him to outspeed). Now, while his weaknesses (Fire and Electric) are not covered by Chansey, they are both primarily Special and allow Chansey to wall them with no problems.

Chansey (F) @ Eviolite
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Toxic/Thunder Wave
- Seismic Toss
- Wish
- Protect/Stealth Rock
This gen also brings with it a new item in Eviolite to give Blissey's little sis, Chansey, a time to shine. Chansey is a crazy good mixed wall in every sense of the word with a Defense stat to Rival 252 HP/252 Def Relaxed Swampert and a Special Defense stat in the realm of fully Sp. Defensive Blissey (252 Def/252 Sp. Def Bold Blissey). The set is another simple, yet effective one. Toxic for the obvious stalling powers and as she causes many switches by just entering battle, let's you spread Poison around the opponent's entire team. Thunder wave can also be utilized, shutting down the opponent's main sweepers before they do too much damage. Seismic Toss is obvious for doing damage as neither of Chansey's attacking stats are high enough will dent the opponent's Pokemon with any attacking moves. Wishpassing is another job that Chansey/Blissey do better than any other Pokemon due to their insanely high HP. Wish/Protect works fantastic with Toxic to drain the health out of the opponent. Stealth Rock is a great move to have on Chansey because she is almost guaranteed to get Rocks down, as she is extremely hard to OHKO. However, without Protect, you're running the risk of being KOed if the opponent gets a surprise Crit, Flinch, Freeze, etc.
Whelp, this marks the end of another Core and my first Standard one. Keep those suggestions and feedback coming in as it makes my job much easier. Thanks for reading!

Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
The only thing that covers all Grass types' weaknesses is Heatran (Rotom-H if you don't count Poison as an attacking type), but the issue being that Sceptile can't take a hit, meaning stuff like CS Terrakion and 'Cross can simply outspeed and KO them with the appropriate move.
Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
Nice, but why not just run max def on skarm. Chansey is a special wall and can take all the special attacks. Skarm isn't really meant to take special attacks, therefore no spdef ev's should be invested.

Politoed+Sceptile really isn't a core; it's more of two Pokemon who works kinda well together. Use it in your Ultimate Combo of the Week

Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
Has this been delayed or canceled? I was looking forward to these, and ThornyJelliscor ._.
Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
Lol it's just been delayed. But I'm definitely going to have to change it to a weekly thing at least to make these halfway decent.

Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
May I suggest Celetran? It's a rather effective core, both defensively and offensively
Re: MediHat's Core of the Day
Well I have a combo of an Electicroak. It's not the best but maybe you can help with it. It's a pretty good combo with one being a Physical Sweeper and the other a Special one. I had them with Motor Drive and Dry Skin. Toxicroak had TDPunch, and Electivire had Rain Dance. What do you think?
