Fun with Serperior
Well, I'm bored at about 3 am, so I decided to write up some sets for Serperior. So you know, yeah ._.
Contary (Serperior) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Contrary
EVs: 12 HP / 4 Def / 252 SAtk / 240 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]/Hidden Power [Ice]
- Leech Seed/Taunt/Glare
- Substitute
Yeah, I realize that Contrary is yet to be released, and thus can't be played in Wifi, but this set is more a theoretical than anything. Relatively simple to understand, you have Leaf Storm for stab and the sp.atk boost, substitute to protect against status and surprise Scarfed pokes, a Hidden Power for coverage and a final move for some additional support. Hp Fire allows you to hit Steel types hard, but it means you will be walled by Heatran and fair game for Dnite. Hp Ice means that you will be able to hit Dnite and the like harder, but Steels (especially Scizor and Heatran), will take advantage of you. As far as support, Leech Seed can always give you some added longevity in facing foes like Zapdos, though Taunt can be used to prevent pokes from setting up in your face (usually to be used in conjugation w/Hp Ice) and Glare can allow you to occasionally net another +2 boost in addition to crippling a faster threat.
Sub-Seed (Serperior) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 16 HP / 144 Def / 252 SDef / 96 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Fire]/Protect
- Glare/Torment
- Leech Seed
- Substitute
Believe it or not, Serperior makes quite the Sub-Seeder. In addition to access to Leech Seed, Serperior has some very fun toys in the form of Taunt, Torment and Glare, in addition to the moderate bulk and nice speed stats to abuse them. Glare and Torment can both prove to be a very annoying obstacle for those trying to break through his Subs and the like. Hp Fire can hit those unaffected by Leech Seed, as well as the plethora of Steel types in the OU metagame, though Protect can do wonders with Torment and a little Tspikes support (though you have to be wary of Taunters).
Dual Screens (Serperior) (M) @ Light Clay
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 136 Def / 140 SDef / 232 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Taunt
- Leech Seed
- Reflect
- Light Screen
Somewhat odd, but it actually makes for quite an interesting lead. Not much to explain, it is what it is
Coil (Serperior) (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Overgrow
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SDef / 4 Spd
Careful Nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Dragon Tail
- Leech Seed/Leaf Blade
- Coil
- Taunt
In case this hasn't connected, this isn't really meant to sweep. However, after setting up hazards, this set can prove to be a real monster, with Coil improving Serperior's bulk, increasing the residual damage of Dragon Tail whilst phazing and removing the minor accuracy problem at the same time. Leech Seed can be used whilst initially setting up, though Leaf Blade can also be used if you feel you need the stab. Taunt is a staple of the set, preventing him from being hitting by status (with 4 speed EVs he already outspeeds any Breloom out there ), as well as preventing him from being phazed himself (he outspeeds any other Dragon Tail users). For troll-ish players like me, it's quite an interesting idea :3
Good Day ._.

Re: Fun with Serperior
Scarf is gimmicky, and doesn't require a genius to make. No point in putting it up .-.
Re: Fun with Serperior
Well. I completes the purpose of the thread to be nitpicky. :p I'll do it. You can copy and paste if you want :p
Serperior (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Contrary
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Leaf Storm
- Hidden Power [Fire]
- Iron Tail
- Pursuit
Serperior has a disgraceful special movepool. But with this you only need one really. I wouldn't recommend this set since it has a lot of counters. But anyway, it's out speeds every unboosted pokemon, and most scarfed, I think it will out speed a sand rush boosted Exadrill 9/10 times. But I'm not sure about that to be honest. Iron tail and pursuit are really just to fill in move spots. Not a good set to be quite frank. But alas, it completes the Serperior Set bundle thing. Rada rada rada... Blah blah blah.
